Is there anyone better at fluid, legato leads than Dave Murray?

The more I watch this guy live, the more I appreciate how good he is.

Lots of legato guys have far better technique than Murray

Allan Holdsworth, Bret Garsed, Allen Hinds, Joe Satriani, Dweezil Zappa....those are the first that come to mind

I've always liked Satriani for legato.

Trying to play "Run to the Hills" totally exposes how weak I am at unison bends. I have trouble consistently nailing the pitch on the bent note.

Murray's tone, while not exactly my favorite tone ever, is very well suited to his style of play.

I like the Maiden guitar tones up until the end of powerslave. After that they became a band I love in spit e of their tones.

Back to Legato

Brett Barsed is my favorite

big time

most of the guys mentioned so far,are not really "true" legato players
satriani, murray, mostly just do hammer ons & pull offs,

legato in its purest form is more like Bret Garsed, Allan Holdsworth

here is a good video marshall harrison did on it(he is also a monster player)
